Robert Lee Kidder, age 77 of Albion passed away Monday, October 2, 2017, at his home in Albion, Michigan, after his valiant six year battle against Parkinson's disease. Robert had a strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters that carried him through his final months of life. He was born June 8, 1940 to Roy Legrand and Florence Mae (Passmore) Kidder in Albion, Michigan. On January 18, 2003, he married Juanita Rivera Solis and she survives.

Robert Lee Kidder, age 77 of Albion passed away Monday, October 2, 2017, at his home in Albion, Michigan, after his valiant six year battle against Parkinson's disease. Robert had a strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family, friends, and many supporters that carried him through his final months of life. He was born June 8, 1940 to Roy Legrand and Florence Mae (Passmore) Kidder in Albion, Michigan. On January 18, 2003, he married Juanita Rivera Solis and she survives.

Bob was a supervisor for Guardian Fiberglass until his retirement. He was a member of Salem United Church of Christ. Bob was not only dedicated to God but also his family and community. He was City Councilman for the fifth Precinct. He was a Black Belt in Karate and taught many years in the community. It was not uncommon to be greeted as a Sinsei with a respectful bow. Robert was a Girl Scout leader, Elk's Life Member where he also worked their weekly Bingo games. He must have loved Bingo and being with people because for several years he worked VFW Bingo.
He was a contributor to Kids-N-Stuff Museum and was very proud of working all week at the Victory for Kid's playground Build. For many years, he worked alongside members of Citizens to Beautify Albion doing tilling, planting, weeding and watering of the flowers. He was always involved at Salem Church in all capacities of leadership and building and grounds management. Bob faithfully attended St. John Catholic Church on a weekly basis where he volunteered his time and talents with events and fundraising.

Bob is survived by his wife, Juanita Kidder; sons, Richard (Diane) Kidder, Javier (Karla) Solis; daughter, Marci Kidder; grandchildren, Robbie, Holly, Adrian (Victoria) Kidder, Destiny (Marques) Manuel, RaShawnda Hart, Marra Boulanger, Matteo, Malena and Max Solis; great grandchildren, Demarques and Andreas Manuel, Adri'Anne Kidder and Marlena; brothers, Corlin Kidder and Douglas (Jill) Kidder.. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, Brenda, brother, Dale Kidder, sister, Janice Kidder, and son Jaime Solis, Jr.

Visitation for family and friends will be held Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 2:00 - 4:00PM and 6:00 - 8:00PM at Salem United Church of Christ, 113 West Pine Street, Albion. Funeral Service will be held Friday October 6 at 1:00PM at St. John Catholic Church, 1020 Irwin Avenue, Albion with Pastor Loree Grinnell and Deacon Ken Snyder officiating.

Memorials can be made to Salem United Church of Christ or Great Lake Hospice of Jackson.
